Energy Usage

The following list will give you AVERAGE monthly Kilowatt hour figures for various appliances. Newer energy-saving models will use less and some older models will use more. Again, these are monthly usage figures (unless otherwise stated), so multiply by today's KWH rate of 5.36 cents (or $.0536) to get monthly cost. For instance, 100 KWH per month is $5.36 per month.

These figures are averages and vary according to your individual lifestyle and the energy efficiency of the appliance.

For appliances not listed, you can use the following to figure your monthly usage.
VOLTS X AMPS = WATTS

Normal voltage for small appliances is 120 volts.

WATTAGE X OPERATING HOURS X 30 DAYS / 1000 = MONTHLY KWH'S
Example:
100 watt bulb X 10 hours/day X 30 day/month / 1000 = 30 KWH of monthly usage
