Energy assistance programs available to Ravalli Electric Co-op members are described below.
Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
LIEAP (Low Income Energy Assistance Program) is a federally funded program available to persons who may not otherwise be able to afford to heat their homes or apartments during the winter. To apply for assistance in Missoula and Ravalli counties please contact the Human Resource Development Council (HRCD) District XI office at: (406) 728-3710.
Energy Share
Universal System Benefits (USB) funds help with the emergency energy needs of Ravalli Electric Co-op members through Energy Share of Montana. Energy Share provides one-time assistance, most often in the form of help with a heating bill, but occasionally covering heating equipment repairs or other special energy needs. USB funds can be used for people at or below 150% of poverty on an annualized basis, meaning you may be slightly above the income guidelines and still qualify for USB funds. In addition, Energy Share has other funds available for people no matter what their income, as long as a person is facing a true energy emergency. Every Energy Share application is considered on an individual basis. For more information on Energy Share at: (406) 728-3710.
