To Qualify for a Rebate, you Must Meet the Following Requirements:

  • Purchase an Air Source Heat Pump from our approved installer list. Note: Look for a Heating Season Performance Factor (HSPF) of 9.0 or higher and seasonal energy efficiency Rating (SEER) of 14.0 or higher. Be sure all specifications on the rebate form are met.
  • Heat pump upgrades include adding a heat pump to a system with gas back-up, replacing an existing heat pump, or if upgrading from zonal to ASHP.
  • When more than 50% of the heating system ducts run through unconditioned space, the ducts must be sealed and PTCS certified unless the ducts were previously certified or a PTCS duct leakage test indicated that the pre-existing duct leakage is too low to qualify for the PTCS duct sealing reimbursement.
  • Install the system in our service territory.
  • Read the information on Air Source Heat Pumps, fill out the rebate form and mail to: Ravalli County Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 190, Corvallis, Montana 59828-0190.
  • Attach a copy of the invoice listing the manufacturer (brand name), model number, type, size, cost of the system, AHRI certificate and a copy of the PTCS testing forms.
  • Have your installer sign this form verifying that it meets the specifications above.

Ground Source/Geothermal Heat Pump Rebate – $3,000

To Qualify for a Rebate, you Must Meet the Following Requirements:

  • Purchase an Ground Source Heat Pump from our approved installer list.
  • Install the system in our service territory
  • The measure is available for single family homes only
  • All system components must be newly installed. The replacement of an existing geothermal unit or the thermal exchange loop or fossil fuel furnaces do not qualify
  • Geothermal heat pump systems must be ENERGY STAR qualified and installed according to the IGSHPA specifications available at the time of installation by a PTCS and IGSPHA certified technician
  • Read the information on Ground Source Heat Pumps, fill out the rebate form and mail to: Ravalli County Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 190, Corvallis, Montana 59828-0190
  • Attach a copy of the invoice listing the manufacturer (brand name), model number, type, size, cost of the system, AHRI certificate and a copy of the PTCS testing forms

Ductless Heat Pump Rebate – $800

Ductless Heat Pump

To Qualify for a Rebate, you Must Meet the Following Requirements:

  • Single family residence with premanently installed zonal electric heat
  • Manufactured homes with electric forced air furnaces
  • The system must meet a Heating Seashonal Performance Factor (HSPF) requirement of 9.0 for a single head system and 8.0 for multi-head systems
  • The DHP must be (1) a split system heat pump employing inverter-driven outdoor compressor, with inverter-driven or variable-speed indoor blowers. (2) listed on BPA’s DHP Qualified Product List and (3) installed, according to maunufacturers’ specifications and the Northwest DHP Project Best Practices Guides, by a contractor who attended a NOrthwest Ductless Orientation and received installation training from the manufacturer of the installed DHP equipment.
  • Ducted indoor units do not qualify
  • Fill out the rebate form and mail to: Ravalli County Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 190, Corvallis, MT 59828-0190.

“Montana Home” Construction Package – $1,500

To Qualify for a Rebate, you Must Meet the Following Requirements:

  • Owner/Builders of new electrically heated homes built to the Montana Home specifications
  • Have an intial consultation with REC staff tor review and approve plans
  • Builder information (Name and contact information)
  • House information: installation address, foundations type, square footage of home
  • HVAC system details (type of equipment, ventilation system, specific installation measures, and rated CFM
  • Sign a Montana Home Agreement
  • Report of inspections performed by the utility, including any substantial findings and documentation of any corrective actions taken
  • A blower door test is required for all Montana homes to meet the required ACH of 4@ 50pa

  • Manufactured homes must be electrically-heated, new and designed, constructed and certified by the Northwest Energy Efficient Manugactured (NEEM) Homes program as ENERGY STAR, Including Eco-Rated Homes
  • Dealer must supply NEEM certificate of compliance to homeowner and utility
  • NEEM home or NEEM Eco-rated home built to Zone 3 standards

Heat Pump or Hybrid Water Heater Р$300

To Qualify for a Rebate, you Must Meet the Following Requirements:

  • Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) must be listed on BPA Qualified Products List
  • HPWH must be Tier 2 or 3 model
  • Installed to manufacturer’s specifications.¬† The installer must have received installation training from manufacturer (if available)
  • Installer must submit completed and signed rebate form. In addition, must provide invoice with manufacture, model number, size, and quantity of equipment installed. Also purchase date and cost of HPWH.
