Equipment, Design, & Installation Standards
All new and retrofit Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) systems must be the primary heating source.
Air Source Heat Pump must be commissioned and installed according to current PTCS ASHP Specifications and certified by an ASHP Certified Technician. A Certified Technicians list is available on RECs website.
Minimum equipment efficiency shall be 9.0 Heat System Performance Factor (HSPF) and 14 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). VRF/VRV technologies do not qualify for incentive.
In new construction, the system ductwork shall meet all the specifications and standards set forth in the current IECC Montana Residential Energy Code Section R403.

Information Required to Complete Installation Agreement for Incentives
A copy of the sales invoice, heat-loss calculation used to size the system, PTCS testing and commission forms, and the AHRI certificate must be included with this agreement.
